Welcome to the Future of Capitalism Project website (the “Site”). These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Site.

1) Who we are and how to contact us

The Site is operated by Shizenkan University (“Shizenkan”, “we”, “us” or “our”), in collaboration with IESE Business School – University of Navarra (“IESE”) and other academic partners.

Note: Data protection matters are governed by our Privacy Policy, which identifies the data controller and, where applicable, the EU representative and contact details for privacy requests.

2) Using the site

You may use the Site for lawful, non-commercial purposes connected to learning about or applying to FoC activities. You must not:

• breach any applicable law or regulation;
• upload or transmit malware, harmful code, or content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise inappropriate;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its systems, or any user accounts;
• scrape, harvest or mine data from the Site except as permitted by law and these Terms.

If you create an account or submit an application, you must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. The Site is not intended for children under 16 in the EEA/UK (or under the minimum age defined by local law).

3) Intellectual property

All content on the Site (including text, graphics, logos, images, videos and documents) is owned by Shizenkan, IESE, the Future of Capitalism Project, or their respective licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. You receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes. No other rights are granted. Use of names and logos requires our prior written permission.

4) User submissions

If you submit materials (for example, application answers or discussion posts), you remain the owner of your content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, and display that content solely for operating the Site, evaluating applications, administering the course and related FoC activities. You confirm you have all rights necessary to grant this license and that your content does not infringe third-party rights. Do not upload personal data of others without authorization.

5) No professional or academic reliance

Content on the Site is provided for informational and educational purposes only. Views expressed by contributors are their own. We do not warrant that the content is complete, accurate, or up to date, and you should not rely on it as professional advice.

6) Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Site is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind (express or implied). We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or revenues, arising from or related to your use of the Site. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including liability for fraud or willful misconduct).

7) Third-party links and tools

The Site may link to or integrate third-party websites or services (e.g., video platforms, form tools). Those services are governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for, and do not endorse, third-party sites or services.

8) Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site (with or without notice) if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, engaged in unlawful conduct, or where we discontinue the Site.

9) Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and disputes shall be submitted to the courts of Tokyo, Japan. If you are a consumer residing in the EU/EEA/UK, you also retain the protections afforded to you by any mandatory provisions of the laws of your country of residence and may bring proceedings in your local courts where such mandatory laws so provide.

10) Changes to the site or these terms

We may update the Site and these Terms from time to time. The “Effective Date” will be updated when changes are posted. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect signifies acceptance of the updated Terms.

11) Language

These Terms are provided in English. If translations are provided, the English version will control in case of inconsistency.
