About Us
We are the global platform of educational institutions to explore the future of capitalism, business, and education.
The Future of Capitalism is a global, multi-institutional learning initiative co-founded by IESE Business School (Spain) and Shizenkan University (Japan). It was launched in January 2021 with a joint course involving four institutions: IESE, Shizenkan, the School of Inspired Leadership (India), and Fundação Getulio Vargas (Brazil). Since then, the initiative has continued to grow, attracting like-minded schools and individuals from around the world. By 2025, it has expanded into a truly global collaboration, with 20+ institutions jointly offering a fully online course.
Our Purpose
Humanity stands at a historic crossroads. The very system of capitalism that fueled growth and prosperity for many people is now under deep scrutiny, challenged by rising inequality, the effects of climate change, increasing polarization and the rise of authoritarianism.
Our purpose is to support the necessary process of redefining the role and responsibility of business and its leaders for this new era—and to cultivate holistic leaders who embody professional excellence, integrity, and a spirit of service.
Our Mission
We are a group of institutions and individuals from across five continents, united by a deep sense of urgency for the future of humanity and hope in the transformational power of leadership. Together, we are committed to reimagining the role of business and leadership in shaping a more inclusive, fair, and sustainable world.
Through this alliance, we seek not only to explore a new paradigm of business leadership education, but also to build a global commons for action—a community where learning transforms into courage, solidarity, and meaningful change.
Our Vision
Our vision is to transform the future of business leadership education by developing and disseminating pioneering approaches and course materials that set new global standards. At the same time, we aim to propose a more appropriate definition of the role and responsibility of companies and leaders in creating a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable society—and to embed frameworks that make these commitments lived realities.
Through this dual focus, the Future of Capitalism project seeks not only to reshape how leaders are educated, but also to reimagine how business serves humanity in the decades to come.
